First off, Happy New Year!I hope the first few weeks of 2014 have been good to you and everyone has been keeping warm. The lovely Polar Vortex has been about as much fun as -50° wind chills can be. In a little over a week I'll be rooting for Punxsutawney Phil to not see his shadow, as I imagine you all will be too. C'mon Spring!!
Secondly, I'm switching things up on the ol' glutenfreebetsy.com.Don't worry, I'm still gluten free. That celiac disease thing just doesn't go away on its own. (Or with anything else for that matter. Seriously, don't buy into those fake gluten-blocker pill gimmicks.) As much as I love sharing everything gluten free with you, there is so much more to my life than being gluten free.
I'd like to incorporate a lot more fun stuff here on glutenfreebetsy.com. I want to spotlight my awesome full of gluten friends' projects, talk about gettin' my fitness back on, some DIY projects and crafts, entertainment, my vintage obsession and etsy shop (about to open soon!), and Chicago fun times. You are so in for a treat!
I still plan on including lots of gluten free content as always. I have some great gluten free book and product reviews in the works, so look out for those soon.
In the meantime...I've been updating the Gluten Free Chicago Restaurant list like crazy lately, thanks to everyone who has emailed me with restaurants that have gluten free menus or who are super accommodating to gluten free diners. Seriously, thanks for all the heads up, everyone. I didn't even know about half of these places and now I'm super excited to check them out! Hello, gluten free hot dogs (in buns!!!), anyone?!
The Gluten Free Chicago events calendar has also been constantly updated. Be sure to check that out if you're looking for cooking classes, support groups, or group dinners.
